Best Image Quality

All Structurix films benefit from Agfa's breakthrough on latex, which provides higher contrast and maximum detail resolution. In fact, it has facilitated the highest internal defect recognition within every speed range. Even the smallest details can be easily distinguished. The completed X-ray film has high quality with a clear surface, and the image has a pleasant blue tone.





Protective coating

An important feature of Structurix film is a special protective surface coating directly derived from Agfa's Separate Anti Stress Layer (SAL) technology. This surface coating endows the film with unique high resistance to pressure, scratching, and indentation. Another benefit of surface coating is that the surface roughness has been optimized and can be processed in automatic feeding machines such as FEEDER without worrying about scratches.





Consistent product quality

Structurix film is produced in large quantities. To ensure they meet the strictest quality standards globally, they are produced on a single device in a highly modern coating workshop under strict control conditions. Agfa's comprehensive quality management method, which has passed ISO 9001-2000 quality certification, is the management foundation for achieving excellent performance in promoting production consistency. People, production equipment, and organizations are all integrated into a system that is suitable for consistency and continuous improvement.



This is the quality concept of what we call 'moving targets'. Mobile goal means that in order to meet the growing needs of customers, quality must become a part of our products, not through additional testing, but through design. Agfa's latex technology, for example, helps to provide highly homogeneous emulsification of the total coating area.



Structurix films not only have excellent quality, but they also have an exceptionally high level of batch uniformity.





Consistent processing quality

Structurix film has a reputation for providing consistent and excellent results under a wide range of operating conditions. The cube grain joint technology is the foundation of consistency and stability. Combined with the extremely precise particle size distribution of the cube shape, it ensures that all exposed grains (latent images) are simultaneously developed at the same density under various different development conditions. In addition, they can achieve very high contrast by doing so to ensure high-quality images.





Darkroom sensitivity

Structurix film can be exposed for a longer period of time under darkroom safety light conditions without producing fog (ANSI PH 2.22). This means that brighter safety lights can be used for illumination, creating a more humane and efficient working environment.









BAM certification

Agfa is the world's first company proud to be certified by BAM (German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing).



In addition to the semi annual product testing (design approval) and a series of tests recognizing the achievements of Agfa film laboratory, the certification process involves a quarterly production monitoring and an annual audit of Agfa factory. The results are recorded in the corresponding certificates.



The most commonly used Structurix film system is based on film types D4, D5, and D7 that combine G135 developer and G335 fixative, and is certified by BAM. The German Federal Institute of Technology BAM conducted in-depth research and awarded the Structurix ecological film system (5-minute cycle) a certificate that meets the classification standards of international film systems.





ISO certification

We advocate that obtaining ISO certification is just the beginning. Agfa was the first radiographic film manufacturer to obtain ISO certification for its STRUCTURIX film in 1990. Since then, we have continued to uphold quality and assure you that our entire film system - film, chemicals, and equipment - is produced under a strict ISO 9000 certified quality management system. This is the superior quality assurance of GE Sensing and Detection Technology's products.

High quality images and sensitivity were obtained by optimizing the signal-to-noise ratio of each Structurix film.





Optimization of Contrast



The contrast (signal) of all films has been optimized to approach the maximum contrast suitable for linear detectors (industrial X-ray films), thereby optimizing image quality and sensitivity. An exception is D2, a superlinear detector where image quality is optimized not only through linear (extremely high) contrast combined with very low noise.





Quality and roughness

The latex coating is covered by two separate stress resistant layers (3+4). In order to obtain a rough surface, a matting agent has been used on the top layer.
