Product Details

1、 Product Introduction
Surge protectors are mainly used to limit internal overvoltage caused by lightning overvoltage and operation, and are one of the important equipment to ensure the safe operation of low-voltage lines. When surge currents or voltages suddenly occur in low-voltage electrical circuits or communication lines due to lightning or electrical operations, surge protectors can conduct shunting in a very short time, suppress surges and instantaneous overvoltages on the lines, and thus avoid damage to various equipment, instruments, and communication lines in the circuit caused by surges.
Our company's SW-SPD series surge protectors have remote signaling alarm contacts for low-voltage surge protectors. These passive contacts are connected to our company's wind and photovoltaic box transformer dedicated lightning arresters and surge online monitoring devices, and then transmitted to the control room through communication to achieve real-time monitoring. When the SW-SPD series surge protector limits transient overvoltage and lightning current and breaks down, its thermal trip mechanism will immediately trip, causing the remote signaling contact to issue an alarm signal. Notify users to carry out maintenance and replacement, effectively avoiding power grid accidents caused by the malfunction of surge protectors.
The SW-SPD series is a low-voltage surge protector with remote signal indication function. It is designed as a power supply product for surge protectors (SPDs) in low-voltage distribution systems according to GB18802.1-2002 (IEC61643-1), and its internal core components use high-quality chips/discharge gaps produced by our company. 100% screening through voltage capability, current energy, and parameter outliers. The maximum current capacity of SW-SPD series can reach 200kA (8/20uS), with strong ability to withstand overvoltage, low residual voltage, and small leakage current. The release mechanism is sensitive and can be configured with remote signaling alarm contacts. It is installed on a standard guide rail (35mm), with a failure window display and fast response speed, ensuring safety and reliability.

3、 Structural characteristics
The two electrodes of the 3.1 power gap series products are connected to L (N) and PE wires respectively, forming an electrical gap between the two electrodes. When the power grid operates without exceeding the ignition voltage, there is a high resistance state between the two electrodes. If the voltage between the two electrodes exceeds the ignition voltage due to lightning strikes or overvoltage operations, the gap is broken down and the voltage energy is released through arc discharge. After the shock wave passes, the arc will be extinguished by the arc extinguishing system composed of arc segments and extinguishing chambers. Restore to high resistance state, completely seal the discharge gap, and prevent arc leakage.
3.2 The B, C, and D series products are designed to address the shortcomings of commonly used surge protectors and lightning arresters in the current market, and have incomparable advantages. As shown in the example diagram, the main discharge circuit of the surge protector consists of five units with discharge gaps (special discharge gaps are used for modules with 100kA and above, and customized high-energy air discharge tubes are used for modules with 65kA and below) and high-energy metal oxide nonlinear resistors (single-phase power supply systems have three units with discharge gaps and high-energy metal oxide nonlinear resistors). Modules with 100kA and above have parallel discharge gaps and trigger circuits added on the basis of discharge gap/discharge tube series connection, as shown in the figure. FR in the figure is a zinc oxide nonlinear resistor, and CG is the discharge gap/discharge tube.
3.3 The polar protector series products have a large flow rate, low residual pressure, built-in high-performance gas discharge tubes, high safety performance, modular design, and use terminal connections for reliable and convenient wiring;
The 3.4 DC power series lightning arrester adopts a modular design, with terminal connections and easy installation and replacement. It adopts multiple protection technologies, with strong protection capabilities, high reliability, large current capacity, and low residual voltage.
3.5 According to the requirements, remote signaling contacts can be conveniently selected to transmit the status signals of surge products without the need to go to the site, and the status of the products can be known.
4、 Scope of application and product type
4.1 The power gap series products are suitable for equipotential connection on the low voltage side of transformers or in the low voltage main distribution box of buildings, to protect against overvoltage caused by lightning or operation on the first pole of the power supply. The front end of this series of products must be connected in series with a fuse, otherwise the power frequency continuous current generated during product discharge may burn out the protector.
4.2 B-class series products are suitable for AC 50/60Hz, 380/420 power supply systems. It can provide first level lightning protection (overvoltage) for the low-voltage main distribution system of building incoming lines.
4.3 C-class series products are suitable for AC 50/60Hz, 220/380V power supply systems. It can serve as the second level lightning protection for distributed electricity within buildings, such as floor distribution cabinets in high-rise buildings and unit distribution cabinets in civil buildings.
4.4 D-class series products are suitable for lightning or overvoltage protection of end use electrical equipment in AC 50/60Hz, 220/380V power supply systems, such as information networks, smart devices, civil buildings, etc.
The 4.5 polar protector series products are mainly used to avoid the danger of different potential differences between different grounding grids. When lightning strikes, due to the proximity of different grounding grids, the ground potential of one of the grids will be instantly raised to a high level, resulting in a high potential difference between it and other grounding grids. This potential difference may be connected to the network formed by the lines or equipment between different poles, known as ground potential counterattack, which poses a huge danger to the safety of equipment and personnel. At this time, it is necessary to install pole protectors between different grids to avoid the problem of ground potential counterattack.
4.6 DC power series lightning arrester is used for the front-end of equipment with different voltage power supply lines such as computer systems, modems, signal control, etc., to protect against overvoltage caused by lightning strikes or operation overvoltage on DC power lines.
5、 General installation rules
5.1 Installation using 35mm guide rails.
5.2 The protector is installed in parallel at the input end of the equipment.
The modules of the 5.3200kA, 150kA, 120kA, and 100kA series are connected at the lower end of the module using connecting pieces. The 80kA, 65kA, 40kA, 25kA, and 15kA series consist of a base and a module.
5.4 Connect the upper end of the protection module to the phase line L, neutral line N, and grounding wire PE respectively, and repeat the connection between the module connected to the PE end and the ground.
To maintain inspection and enhance backup protection, a set of three-phase/single-phase circuit breakers (fuses) can be connected in series at the front end of the protector.
5.6 The product can be applied to different wiring methods.
