When the medium enters the valve from below the valve disc, the resistance that the operating force needs to overcome is the frictional force between the valve stem and the packing, as well as the thrust generated by the pressure of the medium. The force required to close the valve is greater than the force required to open it, so the diameter of the valve stem should be larger, otherwise the valve stem bending fault may occur. The selection principle of globe valve:
Globe valves with the same nominal pressure and nominal diameter have equal operating torque, but the flow coefficient may not be equal.
Globe valves with different nominal pressures may not have equal operating torques, but their flow coefficients are equal.
Globe valves with the same diameter may not have the same seat diameter, but their flow coefficients are equal.
The flow coefficient of straight through globe valves is relatively large, while the flow coefficient of other types of globe valves is relatively small.
The angle type globe valve has a smaller flow coefficient, while the DC type globe valve has a larger flow coefficient.
Under the same nominal pressure, the valve body diameter of a straight through globe valve can be less than or equal to the valve body diameter of other types of globe valves.
Under the same nominal diameter, the valve body diameter of a DC globe valve can be greater than or equal to that of other types of globe valves, but not for angle globe valves.
