This sampler has a high capture rate, a sturdy structure, stable performance, and is easy to use.
This sampler simulates the anatomical structure and aerodynamic characteristics of the human respiratory tract. Using the principle of inertial impact, particles suspended in the air are collected on various collection plates according to their aerodynamic equivalent diameters. Then, they are weighed or subjected to physical, chemical, and radiological property analysis to evaluate the degree of harm of environmental aerosols to human health.
The entire instrument consists of an impactor, a collection board, a front separator, a main unit (flowmeter), and a tripod.

1. The impactor consists of eight stages of aluminum alloy discs and a first stage filter. There are sealing rubber rings between the discs, which are fixed together with three spring hooks. Each disc has 400 annular arranged spray holes, which gradually decrease in size. When air is drawn in, due to the gradual decrease in aperture, the airflow velocity increases step by step. Particles of different sizes collide with the corresponding collection plates according to aerodynamic characteristics. The size range of particles collected in each stage depends on the spray hole velocity of that stage and the interception condition of the upper stage. The eighth level is a backup filter that can be equipped with a Φ 80mm filter membrane, and any sub micron particles that are not collected are captured by the filter membrane.
2. The front separator must be used for sampling in environments containing particles>10 μ m to prevent particle rebound and repeated transport. The front separator is an impact chamber with a Φ 12.8mm inlet pipe and three outlet pipes. This design can greatly reduce eddy currents and collect several grams of heavy particles without overloading.
3. The 28.3L/min sampling flow rate of the host is provided by a continuously running exhaust fan, controlled by a flow control knob for sampling flow rate, and indicated by a glass rotor flowmeter.
