Product Details

YSR-5-5-C (158981) Hydraulic Buffer/German Festo FESTO Pneumatic

FESTO cylinder piston is a pressurized component in the cylinder. To prevent air leakage between the left and right chambers of the piston, a piston sealing ring is installed. The wear-resistant ring on the piston can improve the guidance of the cylinder, reduce the wear of the piston sealing ring, and reduce frictional resistance. Wear resistant rings are made of materials such as polyurethane, polytetrafluoroethylene, and synthetic resin for fabric clamping. The width of the piston is determined by the size of the sealing ring and the necessary length of the sliding part. The sliding part is too short, which can easily cause early wear and jamming. The materials commonly used for pistons are aluminum alloy and cast iron, while pistons for small cylinders are made of brass.

The FESTO cylinder piston rod is the most important load-bearing component in the cylinder. High carbon steel is usually used, with a surface treated with hard chrome plating, or stainless steel is used to prevent corrosion and improve the wear resistance of the sealing ring.

FESTO cylinder seals: The sealing of components in rotary or reciprocating motion is called dynamic sealing, while the sealing of stationary parts is called static sealing.

Classification of Festo cylinders

FESTO cylinder type:

① Single acting cylinder: Only one end has a piston rod, and gas is supplied from one side of the piston to generate air pressure. The air pressure pushes the piston to generate thrust and extend, returning by spring or self weight.

② Double acting cylinder: alternate air supply from both sides of the piston, outputting force in one or two directions.

③ Diaphragm cylinder: Replace the piston with a diaphragm, output force in only one direction, and reset with a spring. It has good sealing performance, but short stroke.

④ Impact cylinder: This is a new type of component. It converts the pressure energy of compressed gas into the kinetic energy of high-speed (10-20 meters/second) movement of the piston to perform work. The impact cylinder has added a middle cover with nozzles and discharge ports. The middle cover and piston divide the cylinder into three chambers: the storage chamber, the head chamber, and the tail chamber. It is widely used in various operations such as cutting, punching, crushing, and forming. The cylinder that oscillates back and forth is called a swing cylinder. The inner cavity is divided into two by blades, and the two chambers are alternately supplied with gas. The output shaft oscillates with a swing angle of less than 280 °. In addition, there are rotary cylinders, gas-liquid damping cylinders, and stepper cylinders.

The main connection methods between FESTO cylinder barrel and end cap are as follows: integral type, riveting type, threaded connection type, flange type, and pull rod type. When the cylinder is working, it relies on the oil mist in the compressed air to lubricate the piston. There are also a small number of lubrication free cylinders.
