The impact resistance test of coatings is applicable to evaluate the ability of dry film coatings of paints, varnishes, or related products to resist peeling or cracking from the substrate when deformed by the impact of different spheres under standard experimental conditions, demonstrating the strength of the tested coating and its adhesion to the substrate. At present, although there are various types of impact testers commonly used domestically and internationally, they are ultimately based on the principle of multiplying the drop height of the heavy hammer by its mass, and the impact force causing damage to the coating on the coating.
