Weighing method

Fixed mass weighing method

A sample used for weighing mass. To prepare a standard solution of a certain concentration and volume by weighing reference substances.

Requirement: The sample should not absorb water, have stable properties in air, and have small particles (powder).

Method: First weigh the container and turn off the balance. Then add a fixed mass weight to the right plate, and slowly add the sample into the container containing the sample using a cow horn spoon. Weigh with a half open balance. When the difference between the added sample and the mass is less than 10mg, open the balance and carefully extend the horn spoon containing the sample to about 2-3cm above the container on the left weighing plate. Place the other end of the spoon on the palm of your hand, hold the horn spoon firmly with your thumb, middle finger, and palm, and gently tap the handle with your index finger to slowly shake the sample into the container until the balance is reached. This operation must be very careful.
